Congratulations to my fellow guild members ... we dropped the new 'end game' boss in World of Warcraft, Nefarion, Lord of Blackrock Mountain. Brother to Onxiya, son of Deathwing ... by far one of the most challenging fights in a MMO I have ever seen. Congrats to my guildies and here comes 1.9! I assume at this point that everyone in the Lotus community has read the Forbes article written by Daniel Lyons called Attack of the Blogs. If you have not read it, you should go do that now. This entire blog entry will be about that article. Pay particular attention to Page 2. Now that you know the source, I need to make a comment. I try to stay out of the internet wars, /. like slashdotting, and other tirades and emotional crap that fills the world of the web. This time is different. This time someone went after a friend of mine. As many of you, this community we call the Notes or Lotus community is very dear to me. I have been part of it since 1992. In many ways this community was what brought me into my adult life and helped shape who I am. I count many of the members of our space as friends, and a couple as close friends. I think it is pretty obvious to most that Ed Brill and I are friends ... we comment about each other on both sites, post about each other's

The official announcements went out, and I am speaking at Lotusphere this year. I will be carrying on my tradition of sharing information and code on how to integrate IBM Lotus Notes and Domino with Microsoft Office ... and this year adding quite a bit of information on OpenOffice. My first session is in the Best Practices Track: Extreme Integration - Techniques for Advanced Integration of Office and OpenOffice with IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Expect lots of code and EXTREME demos on this one. I believe it will be earmarked as one of the "Lotusphere Bootcamp" sessions. my second session is a Jumpstart: The Hitchhikers Guide to Office Integration with IBM Lotus Notes and Domino I will be doing this session with Alex Kassabov, Messaging Solutions Manager at PSC. I decided some collaboration would freshen up this session for 2006. This will cover the beginning to middle of integration. Rumor is it will be given twice on Sunday. Towels Optional :)
