Word 12 Screenshot

Microsoft demonstrated the first beta of Office 12 last week at PDC. Thought I would share a picture. Why can Microsoft not learn from the amazing Word on the mac and give us a minimalist user interface? Is it really that hard?

Nintendo takes a risk ... the Revolution Controller has been demoed

September 17 2005

Well, this past week Nintendo introduced the long rumored controller for the Revolution, their next gaming console. The controller, which looks like a remote control, allows additional devices to be plugged in. Check out the analog controller below: Multiplayer games should be easy with multiple controllers. I have to give Nintendo credit for taking a risk and doing something different. So called "hard core" gamers are going to sneer at this. They want the controller that Microsoft and Sony use. Funny thing about those ... Nintendo revolutionized those with the NES. I can not wait to see what games come out for this. Get more info at the following places: - IGN - Gamespot - Gamespot Hardware (lots of details) My reaction is that this is either going to produce great games and a great experience or just be a horrible gamble on Nintendo's part. I hope it works out.

Notes/Domino 7 Launch Event and PSC

September 8 2005

IBM officially launched Notes & Domino 7 yesterday. One of our favorite customers, Holland Company, was a major part of the conference call. Holland was the company that PSC won the Best Competitive Win Lotus Award in January. Jim Tieri, the IT Director at Holland, has worked with PSC on multiple projects. It was very cool to see Jim get a few moments in the spotlight. A great guy and a very smart IT Director. Here are some of Jim's thoughts about Notes/Domino: One Notes customer IBM enlisted for the conference call, Holland Co. LP IT Director Jim Tieri, said he's unconcerned about the transition. Crete, Illinois-based Holland, a railroad equipment manufacturer, is supporting about 300 users on Notes/Domino 6.5 and plans to soon upgrade to version 7. Holland is working with consultancy PSC Group LLC on its Notes deployment and application development, and Tieri said they'll be responsible for developing a Workplace strategy. "I'm entrusting them to make sure th

Dream Theater's acclaimed 1999 concept album "Scenes From A Memory" is being turned into a full-length stage play. Adapted and directed by long-time Dream Theater fan Danni Segal, this is a prose play, not a performance of the CD. The play runs for four performances from 17th - 19th of November, 2005 (that's 3 evening performances and 1 Saturday matinee) at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, East Sussex (between Hastings & Eastbourne in South-East England). As this may be the only time this is ever done, anyone interested is warmly encouraged to come along and see it while they can. Full details can be found at the BATS website, which will be regula
