Dinner with an Admin Goddess

March 10 2006

I had the pleasure of having dinner with the Domino (and LDAP) Administrator goddess Kathleen McGiveny of IBM and a close friend. We went to Osteria Via Stato, a great new Italian restaurant in Chicago. Its a set price per person with three courses. First course is Chef's selection anti-pasta. We had grilled buttered onions, mozzarella salad, and grilled calamari. It is an all-you-can-eat format. Second course is pasta. We had a bowtie in parmesan and a flat noodle with marina sauce. Dinner is your choice. I had a great pork shank. Kath had trout. We got a wine package with dinner, where they pick a wine for each course. The first course was a great dry white wine. We liked it so much we got a bottle of that with the main course. I had a bittersweet truffle cake. Kath had wine :)

Kathleen has lots of great stories. We talked about Lotusphere, Domino stuff, and of course Ed. :) Great having dinner with you Kathleen ... looking forward to sushi next week with our Highland Park friends! Oh, and start blogging again ... just pick anything. Writing short posts is better than nothing!
